Binke Lenhardt @ CITYMAKERS Workshop in Berlin

Binke Lenhardt, co-founder and partner of Crossboundaries, was invited to Berlin to participate the launch of the ‘Stadtmacher China-Deutschland’ (Citymakers China-Germany) program. It is initiated and funded by the Robert Bosch Foundation and co-initiated, curated and implemented by CONSTELLATIONS International.

During two and a half days, around 80 invitees of different fields and expertise from China and Germany met to discuss “citymaking”, focusing on topics such as city culture and identity, the future and new forms of living, cultural urban identities, graphical field studies, urban gardening and food, and strategy development. Binke Lenhardt, together with Erhard An-He Kinzelbach moderated the group “The Future of Living”. They explored existing projects in Berlin and discussed innovative living approaches such as co-living and their challenges and potentials when applied in a local context, among others also affordability and social sustainability were addressed.

The overall goal of Citymakers is to develop ideas which can start to address social innovation in cities across Germany and China.
