Flowing ribbon into hybrid spaces
In an existing office building, this new headquarters combines a work environment with an exhibition space showcasing the companies profile and work. The needs of hierarchy and privacy form the organization the space. High to mid-level management offices are on the perimeter, leaving an open multi-functioning area embraced by the ribbon.
Maximizing space, the design merges circulation and functions as one. Limitations of low ceilings, static column grid and the irregular facade became assets to the design. Sculpting the solution to fit in a vast program and the prerequisite to combine opposing public and private functions.
The reduced material and colour palette results in an ordered and balanced interior space, where employees can focus on their work while visitors can wander around the exhibition space without disturbing one another.
