On occasion of the demand for two new guardhouses for the production sites in Brussels (Belgium) and Györ (Hungary), AUDI AG requires a new corporate architecture for guardhouses.

Design guidelines are developed for three standard types with different profiles of utilization for international application. Guardhouses must integrate different uses and flows of traffic efficiently and functionally on very limited space. They have to adapt to different security standards in various countries, local requirements, profiles of utilization and dimensions (logistics gate, representative gate for visitor's receipt) and fulfill economic efficiency.

At the same time, guardhouses characterize the appearance of Audi AG and have to be developed in the context of corporate architecture. Due to this the concept design needs to assure constant architectonic quality, recognizability and identification with the AUDI corporate design.

The guardhouse welcomes the visitor with a wide spanning roof gesture. It provides weather protection for the admittance control functions. A glazed space serves as an entrance hall for visitors, while the subordinated functions are arranged behind a homogeneous metal skin. The reduced and dynamic design language generates an independent and progressive appearance.
